Registration: Attendance on both days is preferred. However, players of instruments with an excess of applicants may be asked to attend one day only. Please apply for the day(s) you would like, and let us try to accommodate you. Also indicate your availability for one or both days.

College of Marin now requires separate pre-registration and tuition payment of $25. Instructions for pre-registering as a COM student will be sent to applicants who are accepted. Current CMNC workshop fees are reduced by $25 (per participant, not per day) so your total cost is comparable to our other workshops.

The workshop fee includes Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner, Sunday lunch, and break refreshments (depending on which days you attend.)

If you have never been a member before: Dues are $15 for the first membership year (ends June 30, 2009).
Annual membership dues are $35.  For your convenience, Membership application is included at the end of this form, or use the separate membership form.
NON-Member (planning to remain a non-member)

  I am a CMNC Member requesting financial assistance/scholarship (includes new members).
Instructions: Pay your membership dues if not current. After being accepted, everyone will receive instructions to register and pay the required College of Marin fee of $25.
The cost of meals/breaks is nearly $70 for the weekend.
We invite you to make a donation of whatever amount you can afford, using the "Supplemental Payment > Other" option on our payment page. Thank you.


On Saturday, there will be coaching for all groups.
On Sunday, only preformed groups will have coaching, and all other Sunday players will be in two uncoached sessions. Each participant may be in only one preformed group for the weekend.

Unfortunately our venues are limited in size despite the growth of our popularity.  Applicants should know that we consider all applications up to the deadline date, but sometimes have to wait-list or drop people to one day to manage instrument balance and oversubscription. 

Amounts are $25 less per participant than other CMNC workshops because separate $25 COM pre-registration is required.

Cancellations:
If you cancel by Friday, May 2, 2008, you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel between May 3 and May 23, you receive a 50% refund.
If you cancel after May 23 (Friday), there is no refund except for medical and family emergencies.

  Skip Preformed Groups    

Preformed groups are invited to this workshop.

  • A limited number of preformed groups will be accepted for the workshop.
  • Applicants can apply in a preformed group for one of the two days, but are strongly encouraged to attend the other day non-preformed.
  • Preference will be given to groups with members who wish to attend both days.
  • Minimum group size is a trio, but preference may be given to larger groups, depending on the number of applicants and available rooms.
  • Preformed groups must provide their own music and a score for the coach (even if the score is a piano part, an additional copy must be provided). Groups unable to meet these requirements will not be accepted.
  • All members of preformed groups must be listed on the initial application and all applications must be submitted, including payment, by the deadline of April 26, 2008.
  • Changes to preformed groups present serious problems and should be avoided. Members of a preformed group that disbands will be assigned as individual participants, if possible.

Violinists' preference:

Assignments will be discussed with pianists about 3 weeks before the workshop. Non-preformed strings will be notified of their assignment for Saturday (and we will offer to notify winds) about 5 days before the workshop.

Please let us know your assignment preferences (familiar classic, unknown modern, specific composer or piece, etc.) and any other relevant personal preferences (assign with others from your area, okay to group with multiples of oversubscribed instrument such as flute quartet, etc.). We like to know, although many factors influence our ability to honor your preferences.

I will receive a yearly Member Directory (mailed in early January), the thrice-yearly Newsletter (mailed about a month before each workshop), workshop announcements, and reduced fees for workshop attendance.
